WHAT IS OUR MISSION? Jesus asked two things of His followers--first to love God with all their heart, soul, mind & strength, & our neighbor as our self (The Great Commandment - Mark 12). Then Jesus asked this community of love to go into His world in the Holy Spirit's power, and bring life by sowing His Word (The Great Commission - Matt. 28). LIVING C H R I S T VALUES
SOWING (expecting a harvest) & GROWING (in relationship to God and Others) with the Living Christ!C harge the Gates! Jesus never called us to “hold the fort,” but to retake enemy territory! Jesus promises us that the gates of hell will fall open when we move against them in His name (Mt. 16). LCF practices a ”Go into the world” strategy (Matthew 28) rather than expecting that the world will come to us. Our task isn’t to shame sinners, but set them free by the Word of God!H earing God—LCF places HEARING GOD at the highest level of our callings (Only in this way can we experience the Lordship of Jesus Christ, Intimate & personal Worship, Holy Spirit empowered ministry, Spiritual gifts, etc.) "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." John 10:27R ooted—we value our shared Lutheran heritage, and our first decade of Cell-Based Ministry. We are ROOTED in our new identity in Christ (Col. 2:6-7)I nfluence –LCF chooses to make a difference in the world by INFLUENCING others rather than CONTROLLING them, thus respecting & loving them, while getting out of God’s way. (Mark 12:29-31)S afe Place— LCF is a SAFE PLACE for DANGEROUS PEOPLE—We are cleansed and equipped as a TEAM by the Holy Spirit for our callings (Ephesians 4:11-16; 6:11-18) and a threat to the dark kingdom of our enemy. Who we are together is more important than what we do (John 13:34-35).Teaching Parables –-LCF seeks to apply Jesus’ Primary Organic Teaching Parables, such as...
WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE? We are seeking new patterns of faithfulness for the 21st Century. It is no secret that our culture has become more pluralistic, unbelieving, and even hostile to Christianity. The early church met this challenge head on, not by building larger facilities, or depending on paid experts, but by being “the priesthood of all believers,” the church empowered and gifted to serve in ways that benefit others beyond themselves. They worshipped in "the temple courts" but also in smaller groups "house to house." We believe in the church gathered, but also the church scattered, to be salt in the world.
